Growing up in a town about 20 minutes South of San Francisco, California, I knew I was destined to work in a big city. Every trip to the city was always a memorable and exciting experience. I noticed I would always admire the, what seemed to be skyscrapers, towering over the numerous cars, taxis, and business men and women. The fast-paced environment was so fascinating to me, I had to research what exciting careers existed in these large cities. With a little help from famous TV shows such as Sex and The City, and The Hills, and even an acquaintance of my mother who worked in this particular field, I discovered the fabulous career of Public Relations.
After researching what my options in that particular industry were, I immediately realized that is what I wanted to do career wise. Of course I was eager to start my journey at California State University, Chico in 2012 to learn more about this industry and gain the knowledge I would need. After two years at this University so far, soon to complete my third, I have learned so much in every single one of my classes, that I get more and more excited to enter the real world when my 2016 graduation comes around.
Luckily for me, I had the most amazing opportunity to get a little taste of the real world in the Summer of 2014. I was hired as an intern in San Francisco for Allied Integrated Marketing, a firm which provides many capabilities for major clients in the entertainment and lifestyle industry. That little girl who once looked up to those skyscrapers, was now working inside one and ready to take the next exciting step in my journey.
Although it was only for the summer, I can definitely say I learned so much and the experience confirmed that I belonged in the world of Public Relations. Now as a Junior in college, I am figuring out in what industry of PR I would like to be in. My passion for fashion, technology, and lifestyle in general, have me leaning towards an agency over an in-house firm but who knows where I will end up. All I know is, I will be successful and make my dream become a reality soon enough.
Welcome to my blog, and enjoy!
